What is sexual biohacking?
Biohacking is when you use regenerative treatments to improve your performance. Sexual biohacking is essentially reversing the atrophy that comes with aging. As you age your tissues atrophy, and if your genitals aren’t working, it doesn’t matter what skills you have, if it hurts, you aren’t going to do it. Sexual biohacking is preventing or reversing these problems.
Does sexual biohacking include estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone?
BioIdentical Hormone Replacement – estriol, estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, even oxytocin are good to manage as you are moving into menopause. You can remain more vital when you are taking BioIdentical Hormone Replacement Therapy.
How are neurotransmitters in hormone production impacted by our microbiomes?
Everything begins in your gut, all of your health, your immune system, your neurotransmitter production, and your hormone production. Therefore, you need a lot of healthy fats. You also need to address vitamin deficiencies such as vitamin D, B12, vitamin A, and vitamin K. These help to stave off osteoporosis and keep your cognitive function and they work with your estrogen. Prebiotics and probiotics are also important as you need plenty of good bacteria in your gut. Diet is also super important. You need to eat a lot of healthy fats and nutrient dense foods. If you are gassy, burping, constipated, or if you have an irritable bowel, or diarrhea, these are all signs that your gut microbiome is off.Your libido is another indicator. How horny are you? That’s how healthy you are. You’ve got to get everything regulated.
How do you find a provider or someone who helps approach your sex life and your libido and your overall health?
Typically you have to go outside traditional medicine and find a functional medicine doctor. And the first thing I recommend people do is get a hormone panel and a good basic blood panel so you can find out what hormones and nutrients are missing.
Do you have any recommendations for how to improve the microbiome to increase our libido?
Start by cleaning up your nutrition. Especially eliminate white flour, white sugar and alcohol. Also, take prebiotics and probiotics to support a health gut. That’s functional medicine. You are what you eat and you are as healthy as you move your body. Also, your vascular system is important for blood flow, so getting up and moving helps. I really like a book called Super Gut by Dr. William Davis and another book by Dr. Kara Fitzgerald called Younger You: Reduce Your Biological Age and Live Longer and Better, which is really what biohacking is.
